People are being urged to take heed of the turtle harvesting ban, which has now being extended for the next 10 years.
This is the message from the WWF South Pacific Marine Species Officer Merewalesi Laveti who said the WWF will be continuing with their awareness so that more people will know about the dangers facing marine turtles and the fast rate at which its numbers are decreasing.
Laveti said people must stop being ignorant about species that are in danger of being extinct adding that the more people know about these kinds of things, the easier it will be to save these species.
The ban will last till 2018.
