Take Looming Strike Seriously
FNA General Secretary Kuini Lutua said one has to see how the people of Fiji have suffered from the last four coups and adds that it is critical for dialogue to take place if the country is to move forward.
Lutua also calls on Interim Prime Minister Commodore Frank Bainimarama to listen to the people.
The Confederation of Public Sector Unions lodged their 28 day strike notice for the 19th of July while their counterparts, the Fiji Island Council of Trade Unions, lodged their 28 day strike notice earlier this week, for strike action on the 1st of August.
Meanwhile, Interim Prime Minister Commodore Frank Bainimarama said the interim government will not stop people from going on strike. Commodore Bainimarama also said civil servants who decide to go on strike will not lose their jobs. He said the government removed the Public Emergency Regulation so that the unions can have their freedom to go on strike.
