Take Extra Precaution-Fire Authority
Divisional Fire Officer West, John Pillay said the fire fighters responded to an early morning fire today that caused damage to Vilisite's Restaurant and Boutique at Main Street, Sigatoka Town.
He said that when the fire fighters arrived at the scene Villisites was engulfed in flames however the fire fighters were able to contain the fire from spreading to adjoined Canteen, Angel Theatre and a car wash located behind the restaurant.
Pillay also raised concern that a call to NFA was not made sooner and by the time they were informed the restaurant was up in flames.
In another fire incident a fire at Matua Place off Hibiscus Drive in Pacific Harbour left three people homeless after their three bedroom villa caught fire.
Initial investigations suspect the fire could have started in the kitchen however investigations continue.
Meanwhile, National Fire Authority has completed its investigations into the fire in a vehicle at Caleb Cresent in Tauvegavega, Ba last week.
The report has been forwarded to Police.
