The Trade Mission of Taiwan of Fiji has expressed sadness at the Chinese Embassy's alleged attempt to cut off its mission in Fiji.
The Head of the Trade Mission of Taiwan, Victor Chin said the government of Taiwan has announced to cease the tug of war for diplomatic recognition and called on China to end the practice of the "check book diplomacy" to which the Chinese President has responded by saying that both sides should end hostility and unnecessary self consuming practice.
However Chin said attempts by the Chinese Embassy to cut off the Trade Mission of Taiwan here was clearly noticed after the Mission was not invited for a briefing by the Interim Government.
The Chinese Embassy is expected to comment on the matter later.
