Tailevu coach, Lance Whippy is adamant that the young Tailevu side that will feature in this week's 4th Farebrother Sullivan Trophy challenge against Nadroga is prepared to give the champions a good game.
Whippy said that most of the boys in the team are fresh from secondary school rugby competition, but he is confident they have the "guts" to take on the might of the Stallions.
Whippy added that it is every coach’s dream to wrestle the trophy from Nadroga, but it will all depend on how the boys play their cards on the day.
Tailevu beat Nadroga 31-27 at Lawaqa Park in 2007 to lift the Farebrother Sullivan trophy which they again defended successfully against the Stallions in 2008 winning 17 points to 14.
The Nadroga and Tailevu game kicks-off this Saturday at 3.30pm and live commentary can be heard on our sister station Viti FM.
In the B Division
Morale at the Macuata team camp is high as they count down to their B-Division promotion relegation match against Namosi.
Team Manager, Ratu Isei Rayawa said that Macuata is determined to get back into the major union from next year, and the boys want to take something back to their supporters back home, and this is what is driving them to win on Saturday.
However, Rayawa added they have told the boys not to underestimate Namosi and play good and clean rugby if they are to achieve their aim.
The Macuata versus Namosi promotion relegation match kicks off at 1pm this Saturday at Lawaqa Park.
