Villagers from the district of Wainibuka, Bau, Nakelo and Verata top the list of Tailevu inmates in prisons.
Prison Officer Isireli Dausiga showed the breakdown during the Tailevu provincial meeting yesterday.
He said out of the 823 prisoners, 83 inmates are from the Tailevu province, which makes up 9% of the prison population.
Prison Commissioner Brigadier General Iowane Naivalurua said the province should assist in the rehabilitation process, when they are released from prison.
The members of the Tailevu Provincial Council are expected to visit the Naboro prison tomorrow.
