Tailevu provincial council Chairman Josefa Serulagilagi is concerned that the province of Tailevu tops the total number of prisoners in prison around the country.
Speaking at the last day of the Heads of Pacific Islands Correction conference, Serulagilagi said Prisons Commissioner Brigadear General Iowane Naivalurua informed him that a total of 138 prisoners are from Tailevu.
He said a lot has been said about the development, but looking at the numbers of prisoners from the province, it’s a serious concern that should be discussed during provincial council and tikina meetings.
