Former Oceania Welter Weight Champion Opeti Tagi is out for a show down with Fiji's golden boy, Joy Ali.
The 26-year-old who is training under the guidance of his dad said his fight against South Pacific Welter Weight Champion Waheed Khan will be a stepping stone for him.
Tagi revealed that he was challenged by Ali in 2003, but could not take up the challenge because they were from different categories but is slowly making his way up to be able to face off with Ali.
After more than 28 months, a 9 fight boxing tournament has been organized with the main fight between Joy Ali and New Zealand Middle Weight Champion Faimasasa Tavui on March 14th at the Old National Gym.
