Former Flying Fijians coach Ilivasi Tabua’s reinstatement as coach of the National 15s team will entirely depend on the new Fiji Rugby Union Board that was elected in the Annual General Meeting last Saturday.
Newly elected Legal Adviser Joeli Baledrokadroka said they will first sight all the documents that are with CEO Keni Dakuidreketi, that led to Tabua’s dismissal before the new Board makes a decision.
Northland Chairman Simione Naiduki moved a motion during the AGM that Tabua be reinstated if Fiji wants to reach the semifinals in this year’s World Cup in New Zealand.
This is after he led the Flying Fijians to the quarter finals in the last World Cup in France.
It was seconded by Suva President Commander Francis Kean.
However CEO Keni Dakuidreketi says Tabua’s reinstatement will depend entirely on the new Board which is expected to meet this week.
The new Board members that were elected on Saturday include Joeli Baledrokadroka, Napolioni Batimala, Colonel Mosese Tikoitoga, Rupeni Nacewa, SSP Salacieli Naivilawasa, Commissioner Western Joeli Cawaki, Ilaitia Tuisese and Cama Raimuria.
Isikeli Tasere was voted in as FRU President.
Prime Minister Commodore Voreqe Bainimarama is yet to submit the PM’s nominee to the Board.
