Flying Fijian 15's rugby coach Ilivasi Tabua spent his first day in the 2009 season with his 30 squad member with two hard training runs in Nadi today.

The morning session saw trainer Naca Cawainibuka spending the first two hours looking at the fitness level of each individual player as the side has only a week to prepare for their opening game against Tonga next Saturday.

Most of the players who are new to the training environment will get the next few days to acclimatise to the way the national 15's side step up their preparation before a game plan is mapped out by Tabua.

Only 10 players from the 2007 Rugby World Cup are in the team in the likes of Sunia Koto, Graham Dewes, Kele Leawere, Wame Lewaravu, Semisi Naevo, Netani Talei, Jone Daunivucu, Wise Luveniyali and Seru Rabeni.

Fiji’s opening game is against Tonga next Saturday in Nukualofa.
