Former national fifteens rugby coach Ilivasi Tabua is now taking certain actions under the Employment Relations Promulgation after claiming that he was unfairly treated and dismissed by the Fiji Rugby Union last month.

Fijivillage has received confirmation that Tabua has hired the services of law firm, R. Patel Lawyers.

The first step has already been taken where an employment grievance has been filed by Tabua against the Fiji Rugby Union.

The next step is the appointment of a mediator.

Fijivillage understands that if the matter is not settled by the mediator then the issue will then be taken to the Employment Tribunal.

One of the main grounds being argued by Tabua is that he was not fairly treated before his sacking.

Meanwhile, FRU chairman Viliame Gavoka said the rugby union took the right step and Tabua knows that.
