National 15's rugby coach Ilivasi Tabua has issued a challenge to those players that will be taking part in the Colonial Cup competition this season.
Speaking to Village Sports, Tabua said that last years World Cup achievement the challenge now for local players is try to lift their standard and be in par with their overseas counterpart.
Tabua believes that the 6 franchise team taking part in the competition have what it takes to produced the same results.
The 2008 Colonial Cup competition gets underway on Friday night at 6pm with defending champion Stallions hosting the Highlanders and on Saturday at 3pm the Crusaders takes on the Knights.
