Fiji beat Samoa 34-17 in the opening match of the Pacific Nations Cup in Lautoka yesterday, with debutante wing Timoci Nagusa scoring two tries.
Speaking to Fijivillage Sports, Coach Ilivasi Tabua said he was very impressed with his boy's performance.
Fiji ran in five tries in all, including one to veteran scrum-half Mosese Rauluni and to the two cousins Taniela Rawaqa and lock Ifereimi Rawaqa.
Flying Fijians Captain, Mosese Rauluni was elated after having come off retirement to score tries for Fiji.
Fiji led 12-0 at half-time, but Samoa rallied in the second half with tries for Henry Fa'afili, David Lemi and Semo Setiti keeping them in the game.
In other matches played yesterday; the New Zealand Maori overcame an ill-disciplined Tonga 20-9 in Albany last night.
