Former Fiji Sports Council Chief Executive, Alice Tabete was ready to be charged by FICAC before leaving for the World Netball Championship however she made a special request to the Interim Prime Minister to allow her to go to New Zealand.
Commodore Frank Bainimarama said FICAC was ready to lay charges on Tabete but the Netball Fiji President rang him up and requested that she be allowed to represent Fiji in the WNC as Netball Fiji's top executive.
Bainimarama stresses that Tabete had promised him that she would return after the event, and that should be honored by her.
Meanwhile Tabete's lawyer confirms that she is NZ visiting relatives and has not heard of any charges to be laid against her. She said all the claims are fabricated.
