Pacific Sprint King Banuve Tabakaucoro settled for second place in the mens 200m final during the Oceania Athletics Championships in Australia.
Tabakaucoro ran a time of 21.68secs while Jeremy Dodson of Samoa who took out first place ran a time of 21.57secs.
The 22-year-old was the favourite to win after setting the national record last month with a time of 21.01secs.
Natabua High School sprinter Batinisavu Uluiyata finished 7th.
Gospel High School sprinter Younis Bese finished in fourth place during the women’s 200m final.
Bese clocked a time of 24.35secs while PNG’s Toea Wisil who finished in first place clocked at time of 23.71secs.
Sisilia Seavula finished in 7th place.
Meanwhile, Fiji’s Milika Tuivanuavou won the Senior Women’s Shot Put 4kg with a throw of 14.35m.
