Birthday boy Banuve Tabakaucoro will be aiming to win his first gold medal at this year’s Pacific Mini Games in Wallis and Futuna today.

Tabakaucoro who turns 21 today, will be in action in the men’s 100
meters final today after cruising through his heat yesterday.

The Pacific’s fastest man won his 100 metres heat after clocking a time of 10.65 seconds.

Sila Central college student Waisake Raselala came first in his heat with the fastest time of 10.60 seconds while Suva Grammar school sprinter Francis Kirikirikula finished second in his heat in a time of 10.66seconds.
 
The 100 metres women’s final will also be held today.

Meanwhile, Seruwaia Malani of Levuka bagged three gold medals for Fiji at the Pacific Mini Games in Wallis and Futuna yesterday.

The 19 year old won gold in the 52kg snatch, 63kg clean and jerk event while Milika Tuivanuavou won a bronze in the women’s javelin.
