Pacific Games golden boy, Banuve Tabakaucoro showed in the 4 by 100 metres relay final this afternoon that he deserves to be rated as the fastest man in the region after guiding Fiji to win another gold medal.

Tabakaucoro anchored the relay team and proved to be the difference with his burning speed leaving the PNG and New Caledonia runners behind for the 2nd and 3rd spot.

This is Tabakaucoro's third gold medal after winning the 100 and 200 metres finals.

Meanwhile, Fiji settled for silver in the Men's 4 by 400mtres in the last hour along with the Women's 4 by 100 metres Pacific Games relay final.

In the Women's 4 by 100m: Litiana Miller set the pace for Fiji and exchanged the baton well with Paulini Korowaqa but the final baton change between Miriama Senokonoko and Sisilia Seavula slowed Fiji's pace, letting PNG grab gold in this event.

In beach volleyball, the Fiji mens team will play in the semi-finals against American Samoa at 5pm.

Our Mens soccer team will also go up against Tahiti today at 3pm for the bronze medal playoffs.

Looking at the medal tally, Fiji is still fourth with 29 gold, 33 silver and 37 bronze.

New Caledonia is first with 92 gold, 82 silver and 40 bronze while Tahiti is second with 48 gold, 32 silver and 35 bronze.

Papua New Guinea sits third with 34 gold, 19 silver and 41 bronze medals.
