The CK Ezy Buy Tabadamu Blue has been crowned the new champion of the 39th Fiji Bitter Marist 7s after defeating Hideaway Hurricanes 30‑14 at the ANZ Stadium.

Laced with former Fiji 7s team players, Setefano Cakau, Nasoni Roko, David Batiratu, Leo Naikasau, Apisai Naqaliva, Maleli Bula and France based Alipate Ratini, the Namosi based side proved too strong for Hideaway Hurricanes which had the services of Fiji 7s players Jasa Veremalua and Eminoni Nasilasila.

In the first semifinal, Tabadamu Blue had to come from behind to beat runners‑up from last year Police National 17‑12 after Maleli Bula scored the winning try in sudden death.

In the second semifinal, Hideaway Hurricanes defeated Wardens Gold 29‑0.

Looking at the quarterfinals results, Hideaway Hurricanes upset Tokatoka Westfield Babas 21‑12, Wardens Gold thrashed Ratu Filise 1 26-0, Police National beat Redrock 12‑0 while Tabadamu Blue beat Wardens Green 19-5.

Meanwhile Emioni Naisilasila received the Player of the tournament award after an outstanding two days of sevens.

Vodafone Fiji 7's coach Ben Ryan who will be naming his 18 member squad for the Hong Kong 7's side today was impressed with some of the former players who are vying to don the national jumper again.

Ryan said he was pleased with the performance of Vodafone Fiji 7's playmaker Player of the Tournament Eminoni Nasilasila.

Some of the players who are expected to make the 18 member squad are Jasa Veremalua, Emino Nasilasila, Pio Tuwai, Samuela Saqiwa, Sitiveni Waqa, Emori Waqa, Vatemo Ravouvou, Jerry Tuwai, Osea Kolinisau, Savenaca Rawaca, Semi Kunatani, Manueli Laqai, Viliame Mata, Samisoni Viriviri, Emosi Mulevoro and Waisea Nacuqu. 

Meanwhile Isake Katonibau is in doubt for Hong Kong 7's after facing a knee injury.

The Hong Kong 7's will be held from the 27th to the 29th of this month.
