Interim Prime Minister, Frank Bainimarama has expressed Fiji's heartfelt sympathies to his Australian counterpart, Kevin Rudd for the tragic loss of lives and damages caused by the devastating bushfires in Victoria.

In a letter addressed to the Australian Prime Minister, Commodore Bainimarama expressed both shock and sadness to hear and read about the loss caused by the bushfire.

Commodore Bainimarama said he wishes to convey to the Federal Government of Australia the deep sympathies of the people and the government of Fiji.

Bainimarama added that our thoughts and prayers are with those who have lost loved ones as well as personal property and also those many firefighters and volunteers who are continuing to prevent further losses.
