The British High Commissioner to Fiji Roger Sykes has welcomed the invitation by the Interim Prime Minister, Commodore Frank Bainimarama to the political parties for dialogue.
Sykes said the Commission hopes for a positive outcome in any dialogue that is inclusive.
However, he said the UK stands by the statement by CMAG and remain seriously concerned by the lack of progress towards elections by March 2009 as promised to the region, the international community and the people of Fiji by the interim government.
Sykes said an early return to civilian and constitutional democracy is an essential foundation for the future of Fiji and its people.
Meanwhile, another political party has accepted the invitation from Prime Minister Commodore Frank Bainimarama to be part of the first political dialogue forum to be held on Monday.
Justice and Freedom Party leader Dildar Shah said it is a challenge for all political parties in the country to put their differences aside and focus on common good for the progress and welfare.
And the National Alliance Party welcomes the initiative of the Interim Government to re-engage with political parties and will be sending their general secretary, Josaia Gucake and Reginal Raymond to the meeting on Monday.
The Nationalist Vanua Tako Lavo Party will follow the directive issued by the Interim Prime Minister to have talks revolve around the interim government's vision through the People's Charter
Party leader Iliesa Duvuloco said they will abide by the directive to understand the High Court ruling and the Interim Government's vision through the People's Charter.
