Fiji swimming team's Caroline Pickering has broken the South Pacific Games record in the Pacific Games swimming competition this morning in Samoa.

Pickering is the top bet to win the Gold in the women's 100 metres freestyle after setting a new record in the heat with a time of 57.90 seconds. The old record was 58.52 set in 2003 SPG.

Team Fiji swimming manager Angela Probert said apart from Pickering rest of the swimmers Rachel Ah Koy, Calum Liew and Sean Chow will all feature in the finals this evening after qualifying from their heats.
