Ba soccer team defender Avinesh Swamy has been fined $1 000 and banned for two matches by the FIFA Disciplinary Committee.
Swamy was shown a red card against Cook Islands during the OFC Olympic qualifying tournament in Lautoka and will miss Fiji's final match against the Solomon Islands this afternoon.
Fiji FA President Doctor Samsud Dean Sahu Khan is not happy with the fine handed to Swamy and said he will be writing to Oceania and FIFA, as the referee of the match from Solomon’s wrote a wrong report regarding Swamy's sending off.
Fiji / Solomons match will kickoff at 5pm today. Both teams are out of the running for the Olympics qualifier.
