The Suva soccer team will be without 8 of its top players in next month’s Courts IDC who were part of last year’s IDC winning team.
Nathan Shivam is still nursing a knee injury while Simione Maikali, Samuela Kautoga, Sedrick Dutt, Joseph Mishra, Ralph Sherwin, Luke Ha'atera and Sanni Issa have joined other teams.
On top of this, top midfielders Esava Naqeleca has joined Vanuatu's Amicale FC and George Jermy has left the country.
Coach Gurjit Singh said he has a mammoth task on hand to prepare a relatively inexperienced side to defend their title.
Suva is pooled with Nadi, Navua and Nadroga in Pool 2 of the Courts IDC which starts on the 9th of next month at Churchill Park.
