Tournament organizers at the FMF Chow Games have confirmed that despite the current rainy conditions, the games will continue today.

The day two of the FMF Chow games has started with a stiff competition in the Girls Under 14 shot put.

The old record of 11.72 meters set in 2002 was broken by Tonga's Ata Tu'utafaiva who got a throw of 12.72 meters.

But Sabeto District schools class eight student, Kasanita Nai broke that record with a throw of 12.91 meters.

Meanwhile, defending champions Suva though leading the medal tally for both the girls and boys division will rely on the relays today to give them the edge to win the competition.

In the girls 4 *100 meters heats, Suva has 5 of their 6 teams that have advanced into today’s finals.

Suva head coach Lasarusa Senibale believes that they still have some areas to work on especially in the relays.

In the girls division, Suva also lead the tally with 4 gold, 3 silver and 3 bronze, in second place is Cakaudrove with 3 gold and 1 bronze.

The FMF Chow games are currently underway.

The relays will start at 1.15pm.
