Suva successfully retain title
The heavy rain did not stop the Suva athlete from showing their class against the rest of the competitors as they nearly won gold in all of the field and track events.
Suva won the girls division with 16 gold, 9 silver and 6 bronze while at second place Cakaudrove/Bua/Macuata with 5 gold, 4 silver and 7 bronze and at 3rd spot Ra with 4 gold, 7 silver and 3 bronze.
In the boys division Suva took the overall title with 21 gold, 17 silver and 6 bronze.
At second place Lautoka with 5 gold, 7 silver and 7 bronze while Cakaudrove/Bua/Macuata finished at 3rd spot with 5 gold, 2 silver and 8 bronze.
Speaking to Legend FM Sports after the game, Pacific Games 100 meter record holder Jone Delai says that Suva edge the rest of the district because of the facility that they trained in and also with the latest coaching manual which other district do not have.
Delai added that it is time for Athletics Fiji official do go down to grass root level if they want an improvement in the competition.
