Defending champion of the Courts IDC Suva had to fight tooth and nail to beat Nadroga 2-1 in the first Super Premier match at Churchill Park.

Nadroga missed some golden opportunities in the first few minutes of the game and pressured Suva but could not score.  

A lapse of concentration by the Nadroga defenders in the 20th minute of the first half allowed Samuela Drudru to score the first goal for Suva.

Nadroga came back strongly in the second half and equalized through Elvin Parmend Prasad.

Drudru managed to score his second goal in the 20th minute of the second half to make a winning start.

Suva’s goal scorer Samuela Drudru gave the credit to his teammates.
