Defending FMF Chow Games champions Suva will rely on the relays tomorrow to give them the edge to win the competition.

Suva is currently leading the medal tally for both the girls and boys division.

Looking at the Fijivillage tally, Suva is leading with 4 gold, 3 silver and 3 bronze, in second place is Cakaudrove with 3 gold and 1 bronze and in third place is Nasinu with 3 bronze medals.

In the boys division, Suva also lead the tally with 4 gold, 4 silver and 2 bronze, in second place is Lautoka with 3 gold, 2 silver and 3 bronze.

Meanwhile, FMF Chow Games coordinator, Patrick Bower has confirmed that Tonga’s Lokini Palu will win the gold medal after edging out favorite Simon Lilicama in the U14 200 meters finals.

Palu finished the race in 23.6 seconds while Lilicama came second in 23.62 seconds.

The other upset came in the U11 boy’s 200 metres finals where Lautoka’s Marika Biuvanua beat Suva’s top bet, Joe Tabakaucoro to win in a time of 28.02 seconds while Tabakaucoro came in second with a time of 28.06 seconds.

In the girls 4x100 meters heats, Suva has 5 of their 6 teams that have advanced into tomorrow’s finals and the boys relay heats is still underway at the TFL National Stadium.
