The Suva and Lautoka rugby sides have only met twice for the Farebrother Sullivan trophy challenge in the last 10 years.

Lautoka beat Suva in 2003 16-14 while Suva defeated Lautoka in the final challenge last year 19-16.

The last time Suva successfully defended the Farebrother for the whole year was in 1990.

That was after the capital city side was unbeaten in 17 matches from 1988 to 1990.

Lautoka last held the prestigious trophy in 2003 after beating the then holders Naitasiri 18-13.

During the Digicel Cup round robin game this year Lautoka beat Suva in style at Albert Park 16-10.

Last year the Sugar city side also beat Suva in the Digicel Cup but failed to repeat the performance in their Farebrother challenge.

Lautoka Coach and former Flying Fijians centre Viliame Satala said they can beat Suva at home because they did it earlier this year.

Meanwhile, Suva Coach Salimoni Ravouvou said this is their centennial year and they will make sure the Farebrother trophy stays in the capital.

Suva will host Lautoka at 3:30pm this Saturday at the ANZ Stadium and you can catch the live commentary on our sister station Viti FM.
