Suva was declared a Crime Free city on January 21st this year and the Community Policing Unit of the Fiji Police Force will be working closely with the youths of Raiwaqa to fight crime in the area.

During a meeting yesterday with the Police officers of the Raiwaqa Police station, the Community Policing officers raised concern over the broken relationship between Police and Raiwaqa youths.

The Community Policing will be implementing programmes to strengthen the Police-Community relationship.

The programmes will be similar to that in Nasinu where police are using sports such as rugby to reach the youths.

The outreach programme for the youths in Raiwaqa will be through volleyball and basketball since it has become a popular sport within the area.
