The Suva Rugby Union is calling on the Chairman of the Fiji Rugby Union, Filimoni Waqabaca to review their status on the Board Sub Committees.

This comes after the Suva Rugby Union raised its concern in relation to four National players being dropped from the Pacific Mini Games 7s team for failing to adhere to team management protocol.

A statement by the Suva rugby chairman Commander Francis Kean states the recent decision by the FRU Board and Games Committee to allow players dropped from the Mini Games squad to represent their provinces is questionable.

Suva Rugby is calling the FRU to come down hard on players who fail to adhere to the call for national duties.

Last Saturday Jone Vota featured for Namosi after failing to make the 7s team to the Mini Games in Wallis and Futuna.

Vota was called to rugby house last Friday to explain his actions but was later allowed to play against Suva in the Farebrother Sullivan trophy challenge.

Suva is also questioning the decision by the Games Committee Chairman for not wanting to hear their appeal when a decision was made last Friday after their complaint was lodged last Monday.

Nadroga players Apisai Domolailai, Ratu Meli Kurisaru and Sakisua Gavidi were earlier dropped from the Mini Games 7s squad after failing to turn up to camp.

We are trying to get comments from FRU Chairman Filimoni Waqabaca in relation to the issue.

Meanwhile, Suva will host Vatukoula at the ANZ Stadium this Saturday in the third Farebrother Sullivan trophy challenge at 3:30pm and you can catch the live commentary on our sister station Viti FM.
