Some areas in Suva are without water supply from this morning as one of the pumps at the Savura Pumping Station is facing mechanical problems.

Spokesperson for the Water Authority of Fiji Maika Nagalu said this is the same pump which broke down on Monday.

He added this has caused low water levels at the Tamavua reservoir and areas like Savutalele, Wailoku, Tacirua, Namadi Heights, Nabua, Samabula, high areas of Delainavesi, Lami and Veisari up to Togalevu are affected.

According to Nagalu, engineers are trying to fix the pump as five water trucks are currently carting water in the affected areas.

Water supply is expected to be normalized by tomorrow morning.

Meanwhile, some water engineers are still trying to find out the cause of water cuts in parts of the Suva City including Robertson Road, Edinburgh Drive and Usher Street.
