The Suva and Nadi soccer teams face a mammoth task in this year’s OFC Champions League as their performance will dictate whether Fiji will have two representatives in next season’s tournament.
Under Oceania Football Confederations current qualifying rules, the top two teams qualify from a country if a team from that country had reached the elimination round in the previous year’s tournament.
Suva and Nadi are relatively new to the competition although they have made previous appearances in the OFC Champions League.
Ba who mostly represented Fiji in this competition has missed out as the side finished fifth in last year’s National Soccer League.
Nadi will play AS Tefana at 1pm this Friday in its first match of the OFC Champions League while Suva will face Wellington at 1pm this Saturday.
