Suva soccer president Maritino Nemani has officially handed in his resignation yesterday.

Nemani earlier hinted during last year's Courts Homecentres IDC that he will not be contesting this season because of work commitment and will give others a chance to take over Suva soccer.

Suva soccer secretary Avinesh Permal said despite Nemani handing in his resignation he has shown his availability to assist when the need arises.

Permal said Suva soccer Annual General Meeting will be held later this month, where they will appoint a new president and adds that former President Jahir Khan has shown interest and he could take over from Nemani.
