The Fiji Football Association has imposed heavy fines and suspensions on Suva Soccer Team players and officials that assaulted the match referee Dhiren Kewal during the semifinal clash in the FMF Battle of the Giants soccer tournament last month.

Yogesh Narayan, who punched Kewal has been fined $5,000 and suspended for two years from all levels of soccer. Another striker Cedric Dutt is fined $2,000 and suspended for 12 months at club and district level.

Defender Krishna Sami who abused Kewal has been fined $1,000 and suspended for 6 months.

Suva Soccer Coach Allen Jesoni is also fined for spitting and swearing at the referee. Jesoni is fined $3,000 and banned for 12 months while Team Manager Riyaz Hussein has been fined $5,000 and suspended for 2 years.

Fiji FA has also fined Suva Soccer Association $2,000. President Doctor Samsud Dean Sahu Khan said the decision taken was a policy decision and Suva soccer players and officials cannot appeal against the Board of Control decision.
