Suva soccer players are waiting for things to cool down before they appologise to referee Dhiren Kewal, after he was assaulted on Sunday during the BOG semifinal between Suva and Labasa.

Suva President Maritino Nemani said they haven't approached Kewal yet and said it’s premature to make further comments.

Dhiren Kewal said yesterday he has not favored any team since taking up the refereeing and added that he made the right decision by awarding the penalty to Labasa, which saw them qualify for the final.

The two Suva reps Yogesh Narayan, Sedrick Dutt and Suva Soccer Official Riyaz Hussein are charged with assaulting Kewal after their match against Labasa yesterday which Suva lost 3 - 2.

Magistrate Aminiasi Katonivualiku said the case is a reconcilable one and the onus is on the three to reconcile with the victim before they appear in court again on the 20th of August. The three have been released on bail.
