Suva Grammar School is turning 50 next Tuesday and the school will be marking its golden jubilee celebrations with programs starting from next week.

The Suva Grammar School Ex Students Association is working with the School Principal and the Parents Teachers Association in putting up a program which will mark the celebrations.

Association Events Manager, Noa Seru said they will kick start their program on the 9th of this month, the date when Boys and Girls Grammar schools merged.

Suva Grammar School started on February 9th, 1960 at Veiuto.

Before that, from 1918 to 1960, Boys and Girls Grammar operated separately in Suva.

Seru said the ex students with the current students will host a special tree planting ceremony next Tuesday which will officially start their program for the year.

In a press conference this morning, Seru revealed they will also host a weeklong event from the 24th to the 31st of July where a number of programs will be organised by the ex students.
