The Suva hockey side once again defended their title in three grades and for the first time walked away as District winners in the Hockey Kaji Tournament yesterday.

A total of 14 schools from Suva, Lautoka and Levuka competed in the 2 day tournament in the Under 10, 12 and 15 grades.

Event coordinator Tai Smith said the Suva teams fought hard as they had tough competition from the Levuka teams but only lost the Under 12 girls title to them.

Meanwhile, in the under 10, Suva Red won 6-2 in the mixed division, Under 12 the boys from Suva proved too strong winning 4-nil with the Levuka Girls winning the Division 1-nil, in the Under 15 the Capital girls won 6-2 through penalty shots with the partners the Suva boys winning 3-nil.
