Suva 7s team out to create history
After recording a big win in the opening day beating Manawatu
31 nil, the Kalisito Tunaulu coached side now will have to beat PNG and Wardens to qualify for the semifinal.
Tunaulu said they cannot take anything for granted as both sides have the services of former national 7's reps who have been with the national side in the past IRB 7's tournament.
The Suva coach adds the tournament will give the national selectors a chance to look at a wider group of players before they pick the team for the New Zealand 7's.
Meanwhile, the eight teams for tomorrow's quarterfinals of the Digicel Suva International 7s tournament will be known this evening.
After the first round of games yesterday, all the teams still have a chance to make it through, as they will be playing two games each today.
Viti-FM Rugby Commentator Mikaele Kaloucava says most of the local teams can make it to the last eight, after impressive performances yesterday.
Today's opening match will start at 1.35 this afternoon between Suva and PNG.
The favourites for the Suva International 7s tournament, the Fiji Barbarians will today play against Waimanu at 4:09pm and in the last match of the day today at 7:49pm they take on Tonga.
You can catch the live commentaries of the matches from 1:35pm today on our sister station, Viti FM.
