Defending Champions of the Vulaca Volleyball challenge, Suva 1 defeated Kinoya 2 by two straight sets in its first match this morning at the Vodafone Arena.
Laced with National reps with the likes of Temo Finau, Sakiusa Boletawa, Inia Korowale and Iliesa Vakaloloma, Suva 1 is the team to beat.
Coach, Viliame Katia said despite the win they did not perform well in the first match.
Meanwhile, in the women’s competition, Suva Black led by Anaseini Seniloli beat Security Forces 2 by two straight sets.
In other mens matches, Suva 2 beat Vatuwaqa 2 by two sets to one, Kinoya 1 beat Nadonumai 1 by two straight sets and Raiwai beat Nadonumai 2 by two straight sets.
