Terminated members of the Great Council of Chiefs have made applications, to seek a High Court injunction to halt the proposed changes to the chiefly body.

Lawyer representing two of the terminated members, Ratu Ovini Bokini and Ratu Sakiusa Makutu, Savenca Komaisavai confirmed to Legend FM news that they are seeking orders from the court to ensure that there are no new members appointed.

Lawyer representing Ratu Epeli Ganilau, Adish Narayan said they are yet to recieve the documents in relation to the injunction, however they will peruse their stance that the request be struck out, on the grounds that the appointment of the GCC members in past years was null and void and thus Ratu Ovini and others were never members of the GCC.

The case is expected to be called into the High Court for hearing early next year.
