Police are looking for a 21 year old Lands surveyor who was swept away by strong currents while trying to cross the Wainibuka River yesterday afternoon.
Regional Crime Officer Eastern, ASP Aca White said the surveyor was crossing the Wainibuka River with some construction employees when the incident occurred.
ASP White said the water movement in the Wainibuka River is swift due to rainfall in the mountainous areas.
Officers from the Korovou Police Station are searching for him with the help of some villagers.
