The much need food rations and clean drinking water is slowly reaching some of the worst affected families in the Nadi area as our team continues to highlight the plight and suffering of these people.
Our News Director, Vijay Narayan reports that a Nadi based religious organisation has set up Medical tents to tend to the sick in the flood affected areas.
Narayan reports that a Nadi based religious organisation is the first to venture into some areas where other officials are yet to be seen.
The Mission has also set up Medical Camps to tend to the sick in some of these affected areas in Nadi.
And after listening on the ground situation and desperate cries for help, Fiji Water has in the last hour donated 20 cartons of bottled water to our Team in the West to be distributed to families in the Ba area who are still without proper water supply.
Also Golden Manufacturers has contacted our team to ascertain which are the worst of the affected areas and will liase with them to distribute 500 food packs from Saturday.
The Rama Krishna relief along with Brisband based radio station Brigvani are also liaising with Vijay Narayan and our team on those in need of desperate assistance in areas such as Navakai, Nakavu, Sikituru, Naqalevu and Vuniyasi Koromakawa where no assistance has been provided so far.
The owner of Radio Brigvani will be visiting some of these areas to distribute $50,000 worth of groceries.
However, Narayan stresses that the relief packs would only be able to sustain the families for upto 2 days after which they would require further assistance.
Our Team is now heading to Ba to carry out similar assessments in the worst affected areas.
