Support play is always inherent in the way Fijians play the game.
These were the words of Fiji Airways Men’s National 7s team coach Gareth Baber while speaking from Sydney.
When asked on why in Hamilton pool games last weekend, sometimes the players that made a break had lack of support play, Baber says this is something they consistently work on but it has always been present in the Fiji team.
Baber stated earlier in the week that the main challenge they will they face in the pool games will come from England.
England, will feature players like highest try scorer in 7s history Dan Norton, Dan Bibi, Phil Burgess, Tom Bowen and captain Tom Mitchell.
But coach Baber has also said that they will treat every game like a final.
Fiji will be aiming to win the Sydney 7s title for the first time.
We will also be aiming to winning our third title in a row after winning the Cape Town and Hamilton 7s.
Fiji will face Japan in their first pool match at 12.34pm, they will then meet England at 6.02pm while Fiji will play their last pool game against Samoa at 10.07 tonight.
The Cup quarterfinals start at 1.16pm tomorrow, the semifinals start at 5.16pm while the final will start at 9.56pm tomorrow.
Meanwhile, the first game in the Men’s competition will start next hour when Scotland will take on Spain.
