The Interim Minister for Indigenous Affairs last night called on the support of all civil servants to help carry out the many reform initiatives that is currently being implemented by the Public Service.

Ratu Epeli Nailatikau, in his Chief Guest address at the Civil Service Excellence Awards night at Tradewinds, Lami, said that the success of the reform initiatives will depend very much on strong leadership and commitment and involvement of all employees and key stakeholders in the reform process.

The proposed areas of focus for the Civil Service Reform in the New Year include the continuous review of the government machinery, the development of strategic human resource management policies to support the proposed review and the communication and change management strategy to enhance and support changes that would be brought about by reforms.

To all civil servants he added the intention of the awards is to create the development of a new work culture that promotes a more efficient and productive Civil Serviced workforce.
