The Fiji Red Cross Emergency Response Team and DISMAC officials on board the MV Iloilovatu arrived at Cikobia this morning with close to 2 tonnes of relief supplies that included 10 tents, 20 kitchen sets, buckets, lanterns and kerosene stoves, 20 drums of kerosene and 30 water collection containers.

The Red Cross office confirms relief supplies were distributed first to the two worst hit villages of Vuninuku and Nalele. Tomorrow the supplies are expected to be moved into Vatulele and Nautovatu villages.

Meanwhile, this evening the Tui Tai is expected to leave Buca Bay with an additional 200 cartons of Fiji Water on board for the villagers of Cikobia. This should help stave off waterborne diseases that usually follow such disasters.
