The Constitutional Officers Commission will not be advertising the Supervisor of Elections post after New Zealand lawyer Maurice Coughlan refused to take up the position last month following revelations that he was disbarred in 1992.

After returning from his overseas tour yesterday, Commission Chairman, Rishi Ram revealed that they will be selecting a suitable person from those who were shortlisted for this position.

He said the commission had made this decision and now will be having consultations with the Interim Attorney General on the matter.
