After weeks of uncertainty, the Sugar Ministry has finally assured the people of Fiji that problem regarding the shortage of sugar has been rectified.
Sugar Ministry's Permanent Secretary, Manasa Vaniqi has confirmed to Fijivillage that Fiji Sugar Corporation has given assurance that supply of sugar has been normalized.
Vaniqi also confirmed that some traders are under investigation for allegedly exporting sugar from Fiji.
Meanwhile, Fijivillage has received a number of calls from the members of the public from last week complaining of sugar shortage in the local market.
Complaints have also been made in relation to conditional sale of sugar by some supermarkets.
