Interim Minister for Sugar and Finance Mahendra Chaudhry has today stressed that the reforms and the restructures in the sugar industry will continue with or without the assistance of the European Commission.
Following the statement by the EU TRIOKA Group that EU funding for the Sugar industry for 2008 will not be released until there are genuine efforts by the interim government to holding elections by March 2009, Chaudhry said this will not affect their plans as far as the sugar industry is concerned.
Chaudhry also said it is disappointing that the TROIKA group failed to see their efforts to taking Fiji to elections.
