The Sugarcane Growers Council yesterday decided that the Growers Council election be deferred towards the end of the year after a Chief Executive is appointed for the Council.
The Council Board met yesterday and appointed Sundresh Chetty as the Acting Chief executive of the council who holds senior position in the council
Board Chairman, Jain Kumar said the elections cannot be held under the acting CEO as he is not fully versed with the regulations of the elections.
Kumar added that the CEO's position will be advertised soon.
Kumar also said that board's decision will relayed to President Ratu Josefa Iloilo.
