Former executives of Post Fiji Limited who have been charged with alleged corrupt practices by the Fiji Independent Commission Against Corruption appeared in the Suva Magistrate Court this morning.

Lawyers representing former Post Fiji Chairman Mahendra Patel, Former Managing Director, Peni Mau and Former Manager Finance, Dhirendra Pratap made submissions to Magistrate Amaniasi Katonivualiku to vary the bail conditions of their clients.

They requested that reporting conditions be waived as they gave an assurance that they will ensure that their clients attend all court hearings.

This was granted by Magistrate Katonivualiku and the three accused are no longer required to report to their respective police stations.

The case is adjourned to May 23rd for mention.

The three had earlier pleaded not guilty to the charges against them. Patel is charged with two counts of abuse of office, Peni Mau is charged with one count of extortion by public office while Pratap has also been charged with two counts of abuse of office.
